Our Coronado family is fortunate to have two wonderful service/therapy dogs! 🐾 Gizmo’s owner is Mrs. Luce, our school counselor, and Lily’s owner is Mr. Schwan, our music teacher.

Read on to learn more about Gizmo and what Mrs. Luce has to say about her special furry friend! 🐶💙

I am fortunate to be able to bring my therapy dog, Gizmo, with me again to school this year. Therapy dogs can be a great asset to our school, both to the students and the staff. Gizmo is 8 years old and is a Shichon, which is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Bichon Frise.  He loves coming to school and being available to help students throughout the school day. Students love earning “Gizmo Bucks” where they can trade a “rock slip” for 10 minutes of special time with Gizmo! He is also hypoallergenic, meaning he’s great for anyone with allergies. He loves most all dog treats, especially peanut butter; AND he even loves raw vegetables!
