Pinball Pushes & Pulls

Kindergarten students in Musselwhite, Nowlin, and Manwaring’s classes recently wrapped up a unit on pushes and pulls. As part of their learning, students explored these forces by building and testing a simple classroom pinball machine.

To extend their understanding, Ina, a third-grade student at Coronado, visited to share a more advanced pinball machine she assembled from a kit. She gave a presentation demonstrating how different parts of the machine use pushes and pulls to move the ball. The kindergarten students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing great curiosity. Ina’s visit sparked excitement and helped bring their science learning to life.
