Music Student Teacher

Our music room has been full of movement and energy lately thanks to Miss Toman, our music student teacher, who has been working with second grade students on folk dancing. The students are learning two traditional dances from different cultures and regions. One favorite is Los Machetes, a lively folk dance that originated in Mexico and brings rhythm, coordination, and lots of smiles to the class. They are also learning Old Brass Wagon, a traditional circle dance with roots in the United States Midwest.

It has been wonderful to see students build confidence, teamwork, and musicality while experiencing dance traditions from different places. Miss Toman has brought great enthusiasm to the classroom, and second grade is clearly having a fantastic time learning through music and movement!
