Mr. Beach with Salina Arts Infusion

Musician, songwriter and teaching artist Thad Beach has been presenting arts-in-education programs in schools around the U.S. for over 30 years, including 16 years in Salina, sharing 13 different programs throughout each year, with preschool through middle school.

Mr. Beach led Coronado Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes on a musical exploration of the Pumpkin Life Cycle, studying germination, pollination and photosynthesis with his signature life-cycle bucket bass and dancing limberjack.  Each grade level is introduced to progressively more advanced concepts and vocabulary, tailored to their learning stage.

Coronado 4th grade students experienced "Monarchs and Milkweed", which highlights the migratory pathway through Thad's song "The Amazing Monarch Migration", and explored the life cycle, environmental challenges leading to declining populations and what we can do to help them survive.

The presentations are sponsored by the Salina Arts Infusion Program.
