In the fall of 2021, Maddie Nowlin completed her student teaching in Physical Education at Coronado and South Middle School. She graduated in December of 2021 from Kansas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. In January of 2022, she began her career as a Kindergarten teacher. She is currently furthering her education by pursuing a Master's degree in Elementary Education. She's excited to be teaching here at Coronado and we are lucky to have her. Maddie recently received a scholarship from the Salina Education Foundation. Executive Director, Kate Lindsay of the SEF presented Maddie with the the Mary and A. Jay Andersen Scholarship, it was established to assist USD 305 teachers who wish to pursue graduate degrees or further their education. One $1,000 scholarship may be awarded each calendar year on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis. All applicants must have taught in Salina Public Schools for a minimum of three years and must be working toward a graduate degree. Applicants must have persistence and good character and be committed to the field of education.
