Coronado Elementary Career Fair Inspires Future Leaders

Coronado Elementary School recently hosted its annual Career Fair, giving fifth grade students the opportunity to explore a wide variety of career paths as they begin thinking about future middle school and high school pathway choices.

The event welcomed representatives from many different professions and educational backgrounds, helping students discover that there are many ways to build a successful career. Presenters shared information about careers requiring multi-year college degrees, advanced degrees, technical certifications, apprenticeships, military training, and other nontraditional education pathways.

Prior to the fair, students completed interest surveys to help identify careers they were most excited to learn about. Student interests included building and trade skills, medical arts, sports careers, music and visual arts, animal services, first responders and public safety, entertainment, paleontology and archaeology, aviation and automotive technology, engineering, technology and IT, banking and finance, child care and education, and cosmetology.

Throughout the day, students rotated through presentations, asked thoughtful questions, and learned firsthand about the skills, education, and experiences needed for different professions. The Career Fair encouraged students to begin imagining their futures and helped connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities.

Coronado Elementary appreciates all of the community members and professionals who volunteered their time to inspire students and share their career journeys. Their willingness to invest in our students helped make the event both educational and memorable.
